Hi, I'm Katie, I'm a proud mom of three boys and your coach here at AlphaMamas Fitness! I’m beyond excited to guide you through this super fun Walktober Walking Challenge! 🎃
I’ll be walking right alongside you, cheering you on in our private group, and helping us all stay accountable together. Think of it as our new circle of walking buddies! We’re in this as a team, every step of the way!
Believe me when I say I understand the chaos of fitting fitness into everyday life. Half the time I’m sneaking in squats while my one year old tries to open cupboards or walking laps while bribing my five year old with snacks...meanwhile my oldest is asking me a million questions. (Hey, functional fitness at its finest, right? 😂)
A little about me: I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and over 15 years of experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. My specialties are strength training, functional fitness, and core work — and I’ve had the joy of coaching women (and men!) of every age group. But my true passion is helping women feel strong, confident, and capable in every season of life. This challenge is about progress, not perfection — and I can’t wait to see you thrive this fall, one walk at a time.
I am the mom of 3 (including twins!). I’ve been training mamas and obsessing over their results for the past 5 years!
After my twins were born, I found myself with a 4 finger DR and a core that just plain didn’t work anymore. My back hurt, my belly pooched, and I felt completely lost and unrecognizable in this new body. My OB told me that I’d probably need surgery. He said to wait to 2 years and see if I still cared about my belly pooch then do surgery that point.
WORST. ADVICE. EVER.
And, there was no way I was waiting 2 years to “decide” I wanted a strong, functioning, healthy body. So, I started educating myself on all things postpartum. After much trial and error, lots of success and failures, and a few setbacks, I was able to, rebuild a strong core, and was able to run again without pain.
In addition to being a certified Personal Trainer; I am a Postpartum Fitness Expert, Certified Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Postpartum Fitness Specialist. I'm part of the elite Inner Circle of Postpartum Exercise Specialist providers, and am continually learning the most up-to-date research on postpartum fitness.

"The Summer Walking Challenge was the perfect program to keep me on track during those crazy summer weeks when routines and motivation tend to go out the window! The tracking and online community helped with vital accountability. Everyone involved in the challenge's community was so encouraging and inspiring... it was a ton of fun and just an overall truly positive experience. I loved being a part of it!"
Laura, Mom of 4
While this is a "live group challenge", it will be completely virtual. We are all participating as a group together this fall, but you can walk any time of day, any day of the week that you want. There are no set times. While I will be providing a calendar listing a daily plan with various types of walking, you can of course do whatever you want each day, and walk during the times that suit you.
In our private Facebook group, we will have ONE master shared Mileage Tracker. You must log your total miles each week into the tracker, AND reach 30 or 50 miles by the end of October to be eligible to enter the prize drawing. During the first week of November, 2025, all participants who have achieved 30 miles AND logged their weekly progress consistently will be entered once into the drawing. All participants who have achieved 50 miles AND logged their weekly progress consistently will be entered into a second drawing as well as the first. Anyone who requests and receives a refund during the 10 day refund period will not be eligible for the drawing.
Nope! Absolutely not. The daily walking plan that comes with the challenge is a great start and will give you a solid program to follow for core and pelvic walking strength. But you don't have to follow it! Follow whatever walking schedule that best serves you during October. The only rule of the challenge is to walk 30 (or 50) miles. Doesn't matter how you get there. And yes - Running miles count too!
You can keep track of your daily mileage any way you'd like to! A smart watch, pen and paper, an app on your phone. And then, once per week, you'll log your total miles for that week into our shared Walking Tracker in our private Facebook Group. We will take care of the rest!
The Walktober Walking Challenge program and all of our programs are based on our educational and personal experience. Not every program or exercise is right for every person, so you MUST consult with your healthcare provider before doing any exercises listed here.

"Got my walk in! Also, decided to do my measurements for funsies and I'm down 1.5 inches in my waist and hips!"
